Natural Dye Care for Your Favourite Pieces

IMG_6939_edited_edited.jpg

A restorative treatment for garments you love — renewed with natural dyes, botanical infusions, and careful craftsmanship.

Your garments carry stories: memories, comfort and the soft imprint of time. The Garment Spa honours those stories while extending the life of the pieces you cherish most.

Each treatment is entirely bespoke. Colour, technique and finishing are chosen with care depending on the fibre and character of your garment. From botanical dye baths to fibre-safe processes, gentle mordanting and steam finishing, every step is carried out slowly and respectfully.

Suitable Fibres

This service works beautifully on:

  • Plant-based fibres: cotton, linen, hemp, viscose, rayon, Tencel, modal, bamboo

  • Protein fibres: silk, wool, cashmere, alpaca, mohair

  • Vintage fibres: antique linens, vintage silks and rayons

  • Natural blends: most fabrics with a high natural content

Vintage and heirloom pieces often dye especially well due to the maturity of their fibres.

This service is ideal for:

  • Softening or blending stains

  • Enriching or deepening the original colour

  • Restyling with a new colour (on lighter bases)

  • Refreshing favourite garments

  • Reviving vintage or heirloom pieces

  • Subtle colour renewal or full re-dyeing

  • Everyday essentials with emotional value

SemSem Silk Slip Dress — Botanical Overdye

This beautiful SemSem slip dress, cut from 100% silk, originally glowed like an ocean horizon — a gentle gradient that shifted from coral into deep indigo.

Swarovski crystal-embellished straps traced the shoulders and crossed gracefully at the back, adding a precise glimmer to its fluid, body-skimming silhouette.

When the piece arrived at the studio, it had a few stains on the front and back.

My client asked whether these could be softened and blended through natural dyeing. Using botanical dyes, I gently faded and covered the marks, transforming them into more polished, sophisticated shades of blue while preserving the original ombré character of the gown.

A quiet restoration that keeps the spirit of the dress alive — now renewed, refined, and ready for many more evenings of movement and light.

Silk–Cashmere Set by Olivia von Halle — Rescue Dye

Susie’s beautiful Olivia von Halle silk–cashmere set arrived at the studio with stains that remained after an attempt to remove gravy marks through gentle washing. Because the fibre blend is delicate and naturally lustrous, we chose a botanical rescue dye — a process that restores tone and depth without compromising the softness or drape of the fabric.

Using natural logwood dye, the set was transformed into a rich, smoky navy blue. The marks disappeared into the new shade, allowing the garments to regain coherence, elegance, and a renewed sense of luxury.

A quiet revival for a cherished set — now ready for many more years of wear.

Charlie Allen Bespoke — Duck Cotton Blazer Overdye

This bespoke duck-cotton blazer by Charlie Allen arrived with significant fading from time and wear. To restore depth and balance, I applied a botanical overdye, enriching the fabric with a more even, refined tone while preserving the integrity of the tailoring.

A timeless piece, revived with natural colour and ready for many more years of use.
